ECOM-ETSI Advanced Electronic Signature Seminar 2008

THEME AND OBJECTIVES

European Telecommunications Standards Institute(ETSI) and Next Generation Electronic Commerce Council of Japan(ECOM) are playing a key role of electronic signatures related standards including XAdES and CAdES in Europe and Japan respectively.

ETSI and ECOM have kept good relationship in electronic signatures and its plugtests for four years then ETSI and ECOM will hold the first seminar this August in Tokyo.

In this seminar, we will share and discuss following topics:

- the present and the future of the standardization of Advances Electronic Signatures and related standards.
- Asian and European experiences and future perspectives in the usage of Advanced Electronic Signatures and related standards.
- support coming ETSI XAdES/CAdES remote plugtest events to Asia.

13:40-14:30 XAdES / CAdES present and future. XAdES / CAdES and related standards in Spain

This presentation deals with the present status and short/medium term future standardization strategy and activities related to XAdES/CAdES.
Also, it will deal with an overview of the Spanish legal framework providing support to electronic signatures and an overview of running systems that use XAdES/CAdES related standards within Spain, as well as relevant initiatives in this area.

XMLDSIG Status and new Developments, relation to XAdES and the OASIS-DSS AdES-Profile

After an introduction of A-SIT and its electronic signature related activities, an update on the work within the W3C and OASIS will be given. The XML Security Working Group will have held its Kick-off in mid July in Barcelona commencing to address issues identified at the workshop on "Next Steps for XML Signature and XML Encryption"
September 2007 in Mountain View, CA. An estimation on the impact of these activities on XAdES and the OASIS-DSS AdES-Profile will be provided.

PKI and Time Stamping Services in Macau and global communities

This presentation introduces the current development status of PKI and Time Stamping Services locally in Macau as well as globally in the world communities. PKI and Time Stamping Services development experience in Macau will be shared while electronic services standards defined in Universal Postal Union(UPU) will be introduced.

How to participate ETSI XAdES/CAdES Remote Plugtest (*)

The 2nd and 3rd ETSI XAdES/CAdES remote plugtest events will be held by ETSI in September 2008 and February 2009. In this presentation, plugtest overview, testcases, portal site, test environment, remote communication, how to conduct test and difference between ETSI and ECOM plugtests will be shown.
